National Film and Television School (NFTS)

Offers the courses animation, cinematography, documentary, fiction direction. The student gets an MA in Film and Television, validated by the Royal College of Art.
The MA Course is for people who have some experience in the field they want to specialise in. Application materials include material filmed, edited, drawn, written and/or directed by the student.

London International Film School (LIFS)

Offers a two-year full-time practical course, accredited by BECTU, the British film technicians' union. Every student who enrols has to complete the same, two year course and is required to attend the same lectures, pass the same tests on all types of equipment and to play an equal part in the collegiate system of choosing projects, developing the scripts, allocating the work and completing the shooting and postproduction of one film in each of the six terms.
Newcomers can enrol in September, January or May each academic year. All candidates who wish to apply for entry must complete an official Application Form as well as a script for a short film about three minutes in length. Application forms are available on the homepage of the LIFS.

Offers postgraduate diploma and MA in Film Production (Fiction) and an MA in screenwriting (fiction)
Applicants in Film production should be 21 and over, committed to working professionally in film or television, with a degree and/or some demonstrable experience in film-making in your specialist field (even as an amateur). Applicants in Screenwriting should be committed to writing professionally, mature, from 22 upwards.

London Film Academy’s Diploma is designed to equip students with a foundation of knowledge and practical experience from which they can explore their filmmaking potential or being a professional in the film/tv industry. The students learn the basics of directing, cinematography, film and sound editing, business practicalities and scriptwriting. In one year, the course teaches the principles of filmmaking on film.
